Building on the momentum from last year’s release of the Tourbillon Souscription in yellow gold, a limited edition of just 20 pieces, DANIEL ROTH is proud to introduce the Tourbillon Rose Gold. This latest addition brings a fresh take with a stunning rose gold design and a newly refined guilloché dial.

Inspired by the original Tourbillon C187, the first wristwatch to feature a large tourbillon displayed on the dial, the Tourbillon Rose Gold carries forward this legacy with a modern twist. The “pink on pink” design, admired by watch enthusiasts, showcases a 5N rose gold case paired with a matching guilloché dial, creating a harmonious and elegant aesthetic.
“Rose gold is a metal that offers both a contemporary and timeless appeal,” says Matthieu Hegi, Artistic Director of DANIEL ROTH. “It provides a perfect evolution from the vintage charm of the yellow gold used in the Tourbillon Souscription.”

Hegi continues, “The combination of the rose gold case and dial exemplifies the distinctive, refined style that defines DANIEL ROTH. This ‘pink on pink’ pairing also pays homage to many historical timepieces, both wrist and pocket watches, known for their beauty and desirability.”
At the heart of the rose gold double-ellipse case lies the DR001 calibre, a movement meticulously crafted by master watchmakers Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini, the founders of La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton. Unlike the Tourbillon Souscription, where the movement was hidden behind a solid case back, the Tourbillon Rose Gold reveals the intricate hand-finished details through a sapphire back, allowing full appreciation of its traditional construction and decoration.

Continuing the legacy of DANIEL ROTH, each Tourbillon Rose Gold watch is individually numbered on the dial, starting from “21,” following the sequence of the Tourbillon Souscription. Due to the exceptional level of craftsmanship involved, only 50 DANIEL ROTH Tourbillons will be produced each year.
Rose Gold 5N
A material long associated with high-end watchmaking, rose gold derives its distinctive hue from the addition of copper to the alloy. The Tourbillon Rose Gold uses the 5N alloy, a variant of 18k gold known for its deeper, richer tone, sometimes referred to as red gold.

The 18k rose gold case retains the iconic double-ellipse shape, a design hallmark of DANIEL ROTH since its founding in 1988. This unique form, blending elements of a square and a circle, was originally created to showcase the visible tourbillon at 6 o’clock. Today, the double-ellipse case remains an enduring icon of modern watch design.
While the case closely resembles the original dimensions of the C187, subtle adjustments have been made possible by the slimness of the DR001 calibre, giving the new case a more balanced and refined profile. The lugs have also been reimagined, gracefully curving to enhance both the aesthetic and ergonomic appeal.

The Tourbillon Rose Gold features a rose gold dial, crafted from the same precious metal as the case, with applied chapters and scales in sterling silver. The vivid pink of the dial is complemented by black lacquered markings and black-coated stainless-steel hands, creating a striking yet harmonious look.
The dial, like its predecessor, is produced in collaboration with the renowned engine-turning atelier of Kari Voutilainen. The guilloché pattern is engraved by hand using a manually-operated straight-line engine, requiring precision and skill. Each dial is a true labor of love, with even the slightest imperfection necessitating its replacement.

The rose gold dial plate features a guilloché pattern of parallel, vertical lines, identical to those found on many examples of the original C187. While early C187 models featured hobnail guilloché, Daniel Roth soon adopted linear guilloché as a signature of his brand, making this motif synonymous with DANIEL ROTH.
Haute Horlogerie at Its Finest
Visible through the sapphire back, the DR001 movement is a showcase of traditional Swiss watchmaking. Developed in-house at La Fabrique du Temps, the DR001 is a new calibre that honors the craftsmanship and precision that are the hallmarks of haute horlogerie.

The movement, shaped by Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini, is rich with elements that evoke classic watchmaking traditions. While concealed in the Tourbillon Souscription, the DR001 now reveals its exquisite details, from the Côtes de Genève on the bridges to the mirror-polished steel components.
Navas and Barbasini, who worked closely with Daniel Roth, explain, “We understood Daniel’s philosophy deeply, with its emphasis on tradition, quality, and detail. The DR001 had to embody these principles perfectly. We designed it to showcase discreet yet impeccable finishing, appreciated by true connoisseurs.”

The movement’s bridges feature vertical Côtes de Genève, echoing the linear guilloché on the dial. Each bridge is enhanced with mirror-polished, bevelled edges, creating a radiant outline. The tourbillon’s driving wheel is held by a black-polished steel bridge, while its pivot jewel is set in a gold chaton, one of three in the movement. The winding click is also in black-polished steel, ensuring a precise yet smooth winding experience.
Every element of the DR001, no matter how small, has been crafted with the utmost attention to detail, reflecting Daniel Roth’s vision of fine watchmaking.
